Personally, I like the cover that comes with the Kindle. I too had problems with my Kindle falling out, and occassionally the back cover would pop off when I turned the power on. However, I added some velcro and I really don't have a problem anymore.

Initially I tried using it without the cover, but this requires awkward thumb and finger placement. I prefer using it with the cover by far.

One of the things I like about the Kindle cover is that with the elastic strap I can wedge my hand into the back and the cover holds onto me. It looks like I would lose this ability with the M-edge covers.
