no need to worry. Yes, borders is closing their stores but borders does not equal kobo. Kobo is an independent company which sold their units through borders in the states. In fact the majority of kobo shares (probably over 80%) are owned by chapters indigo book stores up here in canada and they aren't folding any time soon. Kobo are the ones who hold the warranty on your unit and therefore your warranty is just fine.
