It seems very weird that Amazon is shipping the adapter to some Canadian customers and not others. I mean, I've already got wall plugs from my classic iPod so I'm not personally bothered, but - weird.
Do you mind my asking for details of your order? Which generation and model of Kindle you've got, when you ordered it, and whether you ordered it from Canada/to be delivered in Canada? (Now I'm wondering if this is a super-recent thing.)

The new Kindle (3G with WiFi) I bought in September, 2010 from amazon.com came with the usb cord and a power adapter which allows you to plug the usb cord into a AC wall outlet. The model is B006. However when I had to exchange it (under warranty) a few months later, the refurbished model they sent me (same model: B006) did not come with the power adapter, only the usb cord, so I didn't send them the power adapter back with the broken Kindle because I assumed I was suppose to. I hope this helps.
