If you are looking for a laptop, Emperor Linux does a really good job. The my new laptop from them has been great.

Oh, but you said you liked spyware and viruses. In that case, I'd recommend Dell. I've purchased several laptops from them and never had a problem with any of them.

But for desktop/tower purchases, I usually go local if I am buying a whole system. Usually I assemble one of these myself, buying the components locally and via the internet. Building your own PC means that you don't have to settle for the cheap junk that many places push.
