Yes, it was in the ‘60s.

It's good to see that our forefathers in the UK are at least making a little progress towards becoming civilized, but you still have a little ways to go. Pubs closing at 11pm!?

I remember that they closed at 10pm; then we would go to the US Navy club at Sand Bank, which would stay open till around midnight.
