I agree the K3 is very sensitive to static. I bought a silicone skin someone one here recommenced for better gripping. It seemed okay till I took it off. I heard tons of statics pops and when I went to turn it on later something inside the Kindle jumped! Needless to say I went back to using my lighted cover and the skin is just sitting here on a shelf.
