I have hundreds of hours of his shows recorded, and several of his commercial CD's. What most people don't remember is that he actually 'stole' the wet-on-wet technique from another TV painter, William Alexander. Alexander painted the same style landscapes using the same size brushes and pallet knife. Bob Ross studied under him, and when Ross got his TV show, Alexander tried to file a law suite claiming theft!

Where Ross was soft-spoken and calm, Alexander was loud and boisterous. Between the two, I do prefer Ross. It's a shame that he passed away so young.

I'll drink a glass of Rum to you, Bob, and your happy little tree!
