The Purina kibble was costing about $6 for a 5 kilo bag and the "Royal Canine" costs about $5 for a 2 kilo bag. But a 2 kilo bag lasts a couple of months... no big deal, right? She loves it. It's healthier. I'll spend the extra few dollars for that.

Our 13 yr old weimaraner's kidneys are failing and she is on a "renal" diet. Due to some new Australian quarantine regulations we can only get the cans, not the biscuits. The only other "renal" diet available is Hills and their kibble is $61 for 3.8 kilos, that lasts about 5 mins with a big dog. You can't even get a bigger size even if you could afford it. Their cans are about $4 compared to the Royal Canin at about $2.50. As you can imagine we cook her a lot of rice, potatoes and other vegetables. And we aren't looking forward to the day when we have to say goodbye.
