Talk has been that Amazon would eventually ditch 3G like B&N did; but given what Bezos said today, 3G's future seems secure for the time being.

But then again, maybe Amazon has too many 3G units in stock and is dropping the price to clear out inventory to make room for a touch screen K4 WiFi only this fall. Who knows?
