I wish the iPad was not so heavy, like the Kindle DXG maybe, but I finally opted for selling the Kindle DXG and keep the iPad as my PDF reader. Got tired of waiting for a firmware upgrade and the iPad really shines with PDFs.

Having said that, I still go back and use my Kindle 3 most of the time. iPad 2 is not too heavy, but 7 oz (I think that's Kindle weight) are almost perfect for long reading sessions.

I would not rely on my iPad as portable reading device though. I consider myself lucky because I usually read my computer books at home so I have no need to take it out with me. For get aways or vacations, I use my Kindle.
