My apologies - no insult intended nor deficiency implied - you misunderstood me. I just meant that maybe you think differently to other people about managing your book collection, and therefore have different requirements.

As is regularly pointed out in this forum, the calibre structure is not really intended for the user's direct use. Perhaps you could use the Save-to-Disc feature with an appropriate template to build your own preferred structure and then delete these saved books from your calibre library. Thus calibre would simply become your conversion staging post and you would then take over folder/file management at the OS level, (hooking in your own software if still needed).
