If they license Adobe RMSDK (iRiver Cover Story does, other models are not listed yet), then sideloading (of DRM content) will be possible. If it doesn't allow side-loading of DRM content, I think it would greatly limit the interest in the device.

Google Books app does not license RMSDK, and I'm not even sure if what it downloads is even an ePub file, since they don't allow even sideloading of non-DRM ePub.

I'm interested in an 'HD' eink device - should do nice things for small text. Though I'd rather it had a touch screen.

[update: it does support ADEPT DRM. See the specs at http://local.iriver.com/usa/product/...p?lpCode=M0015. Also the close-up images of the font rendering look very nice.]
