Just fixed in Mobi2IMP 9.2 the first two cases above in bold that cause blank lines before a page-break. This should solve the problem most of the time.
Also, fixed in Mobi2IMP 9.2 the image aspect ratio problem discussed
here, by padding the images horizontally enough to not cause a problem. See examples below of Chapter 23 illustration in Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen.
