I think I'd prefer my writing style to be closer to King's than White's (but I enjoy White's tropes & topics more); I've never read anything by Wallace so can't say what I'd think of his work.

It's been a long, long time since I read the only E.B. White I've read (
Charlotte's Web)...can't remember much, but certainly I remember enjoyment. Stephen King I've read a fair bit of...he spins a good yarn, and I very much admire good storytelling.
But I picked David Foster Wallace. If I could write like any of them, be any of them, I wish it'd be him, with his genius.
I'm not sure you'd like David Foster Wallace, Elfwreck. Intellectually, I would
guess you would, but subjectively it's way too hard to say. If you want to give him a go though, I recommend
Brief Interviews With Hideous Men. Being all shorts, you could quickly give up if it didn't suit, without that compulsion to finish the whole book (which is me projecting, because that's my compulsion.

). I very much liked this book, and I've
Infinite Jest on my TBR.
Cheers,
Marc
