Even later Yup, there is a bad cable/connector. I wiggled the cable while plugged in and it lost the connection. Went around and around a few times cycling between the various messages it did.
Ok well try a dif device ( because your rulling out the port any usb cable such as you would use for an iphone etc would work) in that usb port if you have it and see if you can duplicate the connection issue, that should rule out the usb cable for your kobo if you can. If its the cable you may be able to have kobo send you a new cable for free. If its the usb port then simply switch the usb to a dif usb port.
