I have downloaded older Version 8.2 just in case this is going to take a while but I am a bit reluctant to use it.

Any ideas fellow Kobolers?

The best things you can do is to either post in the Calibre sub-forum here, in the Devices sub forum, OR open a bug report at https://bugs.launchpad.net/calibre .

Opening a bug report can help in that you can get a more focused approach from a dev who is familiar with the device and Calibre, as opposed to forum threads that can (as JackAstor will attest to) deviate.
