Good to have your company, Inkling. Yup, Kobo's a sound device, but the library leaves much to be desired. What most of us here have done (and we swear by it -- as do about a million others) is to download the excellent and free Calibre library software that was developed by an active MR member called Kovid Goyal and is ever-evolving. Best software out there for what you need. You'll find it here: http://www.calibre-ebook.com. It will store thousands of ebooks, automatically catalogue for you and even convert from format to format if an ebook isn't padlocked by DRM.
