On my Kindle, I'm currently reading the second book in the
Deeds of Paksenarrion trilogy by Elizabeth Moon. I downloaded the first book,
Sheepfarmer's Daughter as a free book from the Baen library. Read it, liked it, then went back to buy the trilogy. Almost finished with
Divided Allegiance and will take a temporary break from eBooks to catch up with a couple of paper-back swaps that I've promised.
Since receiving the Kindle in mid-February, I've read the following eBooks:
- Stone Cold by David Baldacci
- Sheepfarmer's Daughter by Elizabeth Moon
- Snow Ball by April Hamilton
- Liaden Unibus I by Sharon Lee and Steve Miller
- Maelstrom by Elizabeth Ann Scarborough and Anne McCaffrey
- Deluge by Elizabeth Ann Scarborough and Anne McCaffrey
Only one of those was a free download, and I later bought the book in the trilogy. I've purchased Steve Jordan's complete bundle, and I have my eyes on several other books, not to mention the 50 or so that I've downloaded that I want to get to -- Anthony Trollope in particular.
But, I do need to read a couple of paperbacks and get them mailed off to my swapping pals. Since I get such a kick out of swapping books, I don't think I'll ever go totally to the eBook format. I think I own enough paper books now to keep myself in fresh reading matter (those still unread and what I can trade them for) for many years. My Kindle is simply going to make it much easier for me to pack a variety of books for a long trip without having to cope with the weight of the paper.
