I could understand if they were checking O2 levels in the blood. Blood passing through the lungs will pick up O2, depleting it along the way around the body. And it IS the hemoglobin that carries the O2. But the hemoglobin should remain the at the same level... Maybe the tests for hemo actually are O2 measurements... Hmmmm......
It's something for me to look into and learn....
