Janet Evanovitch - Stepahanie Plum, is pretty funny although it could be classified as chick-lit

Tim Dorsey - Serge Storms, is also amusing with a bit of gruesome stuck in there to keep you awake.

Other authors I find to be witty or amusing are Harlen Coben - Myron Bolitar, Glenn Cook - Garret PI, Robert B. Parker - Spenser, Margery Allingham-Campion, Dorothy Sayers -Wimsey, Rex Stout-Nero Wolf, Dennis Lehane - Various, Liz Williams-Inspector Chen, Lawrence Sanders-Archie McNally
