My solution to ebook buying addiction was simple. When I got my e-reader I set out a monthly budget of about $20 and then made a spreadsheet that tells me how much I've got in my account. I accrue the money daily -- all $0.66 of it -- and enter any expenditures on e-books into it. Right now it's giving me a red circle and indicating that my account balance is -$1.29.

Of course this relies on self-monitoring and honesty in recording expenditures. It also means that I spend a lot of time amassing lists of e-books I'd like to buy. I can totally understand anyone who has purchased more than they can possible read.
