Hey,
I won a Kindle 3 (no 3G, just wi-fi) in an office contest. I'd never even thought about buying one before, but I love it. I would have been missing out.
I've been lurking for the last month and the forum is a great source of information. Kudos to the administrators and moderators.
Some favourite reads from the recent past:
- Douglas Coupland, Generation A
- Scarlett Thomas, The End of Mr. Y
- H.G. Wells, The War of the Worlds
- Terry Brooks, The Word and the Void
- Peter Morville, Ambient Findability
- Italo Calvino, Italian Folktales
I'm looking for some suggestions on what to read next and what seems to be popping out to me is:
- Scarlett Thomas, Our Tragic Universe
- Catherynne Valente, The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland...
- Terry Pratchett: Thud!
- Genevieve Valentine: Mechanique: A Tale of the Circus Tresaulti
- Steve Krugg, Don't Make Me Think
Any suggestions or advice on Valente's work would be appreciated as I know little about her.
