greetings and salutations

Hey,

I won a Kindle 3 (no 3G, just wi-fi) in an office contest. I'd never even thought about buying one before, but I love it. I would have been missing out.

I've been lurking for the last month and the forum is a great source of information. Kudos to the administrators and moderators.

Some favourite reads from the recent past:
  • Douglas Coupland, Generation A
  • Scarlett Thomas, The End of Mr. Y
  • H.G. Wells, The War of the Worlds
  • Terry Brooks, The Word and the Void
  • Peter Morville, Ambient Findability
  • Italo Calvino, Italian Folktales

I'm looking for some suggestions on what to read next and what seems to be popping out to me is:
  • Scarlett Thomas, Our Tragic Universe
  • Catherynne Valente, The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland...
  • Terry Pratchett: Thud!
  • Genevieve Valentine: Mechanique: A Tale of the Circus Tresaulti
  • Steve Krugg, Don't Make Me Think

Any suggestions or advice on Valente's work would be appreciated as I know little about her.
