Gorilla glass is not 100% scratch resistant. My wife has a couple of scratches on her Droid X and that uses Gorilla glass as well.

GG is an added feature, just because a company makes a screen with GG doesn't mean they can't make one without. Samsung and SONY are also screen retailers and they also make products with and w/o GG.
