The primary reasons were the new Kobo is $70 cheaper, and for how responsive the developers are on the forums. Plus the frequent firmware updates. I thought I would be interested in the Nook Touch, but after playing with one in store, I lost interest. Didn't really like the look or form factor, and I thought the text got ragged after each page turn (until the full page refresh occurs). Once firmware 1.9.5 came out adding more font sizes, margin & line spacing, and the ability to add more fonts..I was sold.
So far I like it..just wish there some M-Edge covers that fit the new Kobo, so I can use my M-Edge Touch booklight.

Returning the 950 was probably a good decision since Sony rarely updates firmware, rarely listens to customers, and seems to have an issue with USA market/customers. The Sony firmware is certainly stable and elegant, but the KT already surpasses it in text formatting capabilites.
