I suggest you to do a test. Create a new windows task to run Calibre in the next 15 minutes, for example, schedule Calibre to download news at the same time, and leave your pc in sleep mode. So you can see what happens. In my case Calibre don't have enough time to download news and send it by mail in 2 minutes
Yo can schedule Calibre to download more than once a day. Select Every x days and enter a number less than 1 (0.1, 0.3, etc)
