Thanks in advance to anyone who can check this out and report back.

yes. you can zoom in , scribble on the "page" then zoom out and the scribble will appear to zoom out with the other text.
so we are clear
Annotation is highlighting and making a note about the highlight.
Scribbling/Margin writing is writing directly on the page.
Note is copying a section, exiting the document, enter the "Notes" function, starting a note, paste the copied bit into the note and then making remarks about that pasted portion and saving the note.
Scribbling is also a separate note function for writing grocery lists, journals, drawings etc. you can start a scribble , add pages as your scribble grows and go into the menu select tools and "export scribble"
Annotations and Scibbles are stored in a SQL database. you can find them when the device is plugged in to the computer.
The Annotations will be .SKETCH files located in the .onyx folder next to the thumbs.db. Margin writing is kept in this db.
if you export a scribble you will find it in the form of a PNG in the notes folder in a nested folder with the name of the scribble along with the .SKETCH
If you copy and paste into a NOTE that will be found in a folder called text editor as a txt file. this of course is easily transferred off the device for use in Word etc. It does lose some formatting like spaces though.
in order to export those items that are .sketch file you need something like SQL LITE for the db or a HEX editor like UltraEdit since they are hex files
