This is unlikely to be a problem with the SD card. Not only does the one I purchased work fine in my computer, but another card I tried (the 8GB SDHC) also did not work. Since the only card of the three that did work was the 256MB SD, I think the reader is failing to recognise SDHC cards. There are two possible explanations for this - 1) the hardware is broken or 2) the firmware is broken. It's possible that this became corrupted in some way when installing the update (I note that it comes with a warning not to do this until fully charged and yet, like others above, mine wouldn't charge from a wall socket and it began updating as soon as I plugged it into my computer). Hence why I wanted to try and reinstall the firmware before sending my device back for repair/replace.
