For a dedicated ereader, less than 3 weeks of advertised battery life. I know my battery will never last what it advertises for (since I'll use it more often than their calculations) so I want a big buffer between charges.
Annoying (for me) software. I want things as simple as possible.
Yeah, that's 2 things rather than 1 but they go kinda hand in hand. It can last 5 years without needing a charge but if the software frustrates me I wont buy it. It can also have my ideal software but if the battery only lasts a week I'll pass.
