The test isn't about the measuring ability to drive. It's about the ability to follow 'their' instructions 'to the letter.'
As you know, the skills of driving are gained through experience. I've been driving for almost 40 years, holding licenses from three other countries. It's all about; did I check left and right at every required spot? Did I put my directional signals on at EXACTLY 30 meters before making a turn (not 25m nor 35m... I will walk the track before the test and actually measure the location for each signal...) Did I look left and then right, or did I look right and then left? For my motorcycle license I was required to put the kickstand up with my right foot, not my left foot... and look over my right shoulder before I straddled the bike. It will be the same sort of attention to details for the car test. I anticipate that it will take me at least 4-5 attempts before I satisfy the Proctors. NO ONE HAS
EVER PASSED ON THE FIRST ATTEMPT.
EVER.
