I'm having difficulty understanding this statement
"when I open the file in Calibre I change the font size"
What did you actually do? It reads as if you opened the epub in the Calibre Viewer, then used the zoom button. If so, then this won't work as it doesn't change the epub.
There are 2 ways you can physically change the font-size of the epub:-
- By doing a Calibre epub to epub conversion, paying attention to the 'Base font size' and 'Font size key' options on the Convert - Look&Feel page.
- By using the Calibre Tweak-epub option to manually change font-size in the epub's css file.
Option 1 is easier if you're not comfortable with the innards of an epub, but may make other changes you didn't anticipate if you're not careful. Always keep a copy of the pre-convert epub just in case.
Option 2 is safer if you're comfortable with manually tweaking your epubs. I will go into more detail if you like but, based on your post, I'm not sure whether you'd be happy using this feature.
