Yes. You don't have to strip the drm. Blue Reader app works with any Adobe "old-style" DRM books (so not Nook ebooks).

You have to register Bluefire Reader to the same email address and password that you used for the Sony Reader account.

I use Bluefire Reader to read my purchased Sony and Kobo ebooks on my iPad. No synching though.
