I had already rejoiced on my Facebook status that this weekend contained no deadlines, and all I'd planned to do was lots of sleeping and get in some quality time with Chris. Well....*grin*. SUCH a fun day! First time this year we've taken the top off my Tracker and bombed off to DeKalb in it. Went out to eat at Ruby Tuesday, did some shopping at Kohl's (I'm still debating the Fiestaware issue), and went to Barnes and Noble. B&N was an exercise in frustration though. After visiting with our favorite clerk there, I (of course) headed to the mystery section. Well, bookstores aren't held to the same strict release dates as ebooks (unless it's a Harry Potter book, anyway), so most of the mysteries that will be released on Tuesday for ebook are already on the shelves. So it became a game of, "On Tuesday I'll have this, and this, and this, and this, and that..." LOL! I almost broke down and bought "Hammered" by Kevin Hearne (third in the Iron Druid Chronicles) in paperback - if they'd had "Hexed" (the second in the series), I probably would have bought all three in pbook just to have on my shelves...they're that good. I managed to resist though and will get it in ebook on Tuesday... LOL. Watched fireworks all the way home - some towns had their displays tonight and a lot of the farmers were shooting off stuff it looked like. When we got back to Dixon we decided we needed ice cream to finish off the evening so we hit Dairy Queen's drive through for Blizzards. YUMMM.
