The way I got my Sony epubs to work on nook color was
- Download & install the latest version of ADE software
- Copy the sony epub file to My Documents -> My Digital Editions folder
- Start ADE and add the book to my library. Make sure you can read the book within the ADE software.
- Connect the nook to my PC. It should show up on the left side pane in ADE.
- Drag the book from ADE Library to the nook device
