Actually I think B&N would offer support for readers, but international customers must bear the return shipping. Kindle is essentially the same if there's no local Amazon. For my country, Amazon does not ship the Kindle here nor extend support, but I have not seen problems with people needing an exchange and forking out money for shipping.
