I went from a Nook Classic for almost a year to the new Nook touch.

I ran a Nook color on rooted stock for months before moving to CM7 on it in January. I can read on the NC but I really prefer e-ink.

I must say I love the new Nook touch. I wish I could turn off the touch screen page turning sometimes though (or at least make it use swiping) - I get accidental page turns sometimes when I get sidetracked by the kids or whatever.

I've had a little hands on with my wife's Kindle 2 and Kindle 3 - they seem like nice machines also (but I prefer epub / memory card slot/ etc). My wife's ipad is WAAAY to big for me for reading, but it's great for pdf. My Nook Color does pdf pretty well but it's a bit small for it sometimes.
