It is indeed slow on opening documents. I was just reading a PDF novel, and it was slow turning pages (1+ seconds) and the IR page turns were an exercise in futility. I finally gave up and used the stylus on the screen to turn the pages. This went well for the most part. At one point, I tried to turn the pages and the unit locked up completely. The pages wouldn't turn. None of the bezel buttons got a reaction. The reset button on the back had no result. I was finally able to turn the unit off and on with the power button, and then the book opened again and I was able to turn the pages.

At several times the previous day, the font size would change (get larger) for no apparent reason. Today this did not happen. No spontaneous page turns, either. I wonder if this is due to it being very sunny yesterday, and overcast today.

Despite these issues, so far I really like reading on this device. The screen is beautiful, and there is a large amount of text displayed on the page. If the pages would turn as quickly (and accurately) as they ought, it would be almost perfect.
