DVD players started out with 2 different versions that were incompatible. When Pioneer finally came out with a multiformat machine, I finally got a dvd player.
Hopefully someone will eventually build a multiformat ereader which can serve everyone. Until then I will stick with the readers that can read the most formats, ie epub, pdf, txt, rtf, etc.
