Android is a Linux.
But frankly, I don't see the point of either multitasking kernel OS in a single-purpose device. I'm yet to see a pure e-reader where you select the file to read and read it without much fuss. Shouldn't require a general-purpose, though obsolete, CPU, nor much memory...
