Sorry that it didn't work for you. I'd be a little bent if mine didn't work too.
Mine came from Woot and after reading some of the horror stories, I think I was lucky to get one that worked correctly. Even if it did take almost 3 weeks to ship and another 3 weeks to get to my house.
