Presuming you are talking about a BBeB/LRF book.
Please start your PRS in "Safe-Mode".
Shutdown, connect to USB, Power-On, get the USB-Connected Message, disconnect form USB.
You should get the standard-Sony-UI.
Retry your book. If it is still formating, then
A) the book may be badly formated
B) your IM (Intermal Memory) may be corrupted
Possible solutions:
Backup the books, Run chkdsk on IM or format it
Try converting the book to epub as suggest in this thread, btw no need to habe PRS+ installed to do this.
