Strange crashes
I am also experiencing strange and seemingly random crashes. It can happen converting books or clicking on the Edit Metadata button.

Didn't see these crashes in 0.8.6.

Don't know if there's any data I can collect to help track the culprit.

Edit: It's happened about 10 times in the last two hours. Just now calibre crashed when removing a book by pressing Delete.

Edit2. Got this error trying to delete a book

I also managed to save a file generated by Windows "appcompat.txt" in the calibre temp directory.
