In answer to first query, I would suggest you install ADE on the laptop then authorize it with the same ADE user ID as used on your PC. If you have any DRM books on the PC they can then be transferred to the laptop and vice-versa.

You may need to install the Sony Reader software as I think it installs drivers. The last time I tried ADE without the Sony software ADE didn't see the reader.

Personally I only use Calibre to manage my books, Sony Reader software is only on for the above reason. So its up to you which you prefer. I can't think of any reason why you shouldn't put Calibre on the laptop

As for transferring the books, I would think you could just drag and drop from the reader when its connected to the laptop. Or use a USB hard drive if you have one.

As for the second query, not sure about that.
