Hi, and first let me say thanks for calibre, it's a truly great utility.

Next my issue. I use it with my nook. I have several dozen books, most of them with very little or no metadata. I have just upgraded to 0.8.6 and have found how easy it is to import metadata now, at least for covers if nothing else. I have spent a couple of hours editing metadata for all my books.

However, none of my metadata edits has made it to my device. The metadata stays confined to the files on my PC. I have tried sending new copies of the files to the nook, but that results in calibre thinking I have 2 copies of the same book on the device (whereas in fact there is only one), and if I try to delete one of the 2 copies I end up with the whole book getting deleted etc. I have just lost a few books experimenting with that, and it's painful to have to go to my backups and pull the books from there again.

So here is my question. Is there an easy way to synchronize the metadata between the files on the PC and those on the nook?
