I can't choose a favourite childhood book, but I read the entire Secret Seven series a few times through (and many other Enid Blyton's books).

I do remember being incredibly fascinated by the plot from a book I took out from the library; a girl finding an old doll that was kept under the floorboards of an attic. I did not make the attempt to remember the name and it bothered me for a few years before I googled the plot, and the book seems to be Norma Kassirer's "Magic Elizabeth".

I appeared to have gotten my memory of the plot jumbled up, and I wish I can read that book to be sure but it's not in my library. Maybe it was the wrong title.
