Yeah, judging from their freebies, Ellora's Cave are kind of a mixed bag quality-wise when it comes to their original stuff unless it precisely happens to hit one's specific reading kink and one is willing to overlook little writing lapses in order to get a story with a wizard swordswoman and a shapeshifting half-dragon half-fae teaming up to fight crime have sexyfuntimes in a trendy Manhattan neighbourhood.
Which is why I only went and got those Gellis backlist books (and I'm not normally a romance reader besides that).
Definitely getting the longer-length Amazon samples and looking for reviews from people who seem trustworthy is the way to go if you're not already familiar with the authors.
