MobileRead Forums - View Single Post - Trouble downloading from both Kobo and Borders

I will start by saying that I have downloaded from Borders previously from this computer with no problems at all so I know it works.

Today I have tried downloading books from both Borders and Kobo to no avail. I click on the download link and it goes straight to an internet explorer error page with the following message:

Oops! Internet Explorer could not connect to acs4.shortcovers.com:8080

It doesn't even get to the open/save screen.

Funnily enough this is only happening with my Epub format books. I was able to download a PDF book no problems at all.

I have tried turning off my Windows Firewall and still the same problem.

I have also tried using Firefox and same issue.

Any ideas? I phoned Borders/Kobo support and they have no idea and have forwarded it to their technical team but who knows how long it will take them to get back to me.
