In the spirit of not overlooking the obvious: you are looking in the library under news and mags correct? Unlike the Kobo Wifi, the downloaded papers/mags don't show up on the main screen the way books do when added. You have to specifically browse into the library, then News and mag to find them (they will stay on the home screen after you open it once).

I have occasionally had issues where individual issues didn't download, but not a long term no download issue, so I can't help with that side of it. Hopefully support will get back to you eventually.
