When I first started asking about the Sony 950, a lot of people tried to steer me to the 350. And I'm sure the 350 is very nice indeed if you like portability and light weight!
But I was fine with hauling my Nook everywhere I went and the Sony 950 is lighter than the Nook by a couple ounces. Both fit my bag just fine in their Oberon covers. So for me, the 950 was the clear winner.
I like screen real estate, in fact, I'm swiftly getting spoiled by the 7" screen! I thought I'd like it, but in fact, I *LOVE* having the extra screen real estate! All the more since the Sony 950 medium font size is more or less equivalent to Nook's large font size. (I rather wish they had something in between their small and medium... )
But the reality is that for me, the larger screen just makes reading more pleasurable, whether I'm on small font or medium, because it feels more like a book, and because I get to involve myself in the text more before having to turn the page. 6" screens have always felt a little "short" to me, and as I read quickly, it felt like I was just turning the page constantly on Nook.
However, still tempted by the sale price on the 350. I can see times where I might want to be really minimal in what I'd carry around with me and it could be a great fit for that.
