Based on my experience with the Kindle 2 and the New Oxford American Dictionary, it looks like the answer is no.

There's no specific pronunciation facility for the dictionary, and the usual text-to-speech option isn't enabled.

It might be different with more recent versions or with different dictionaries. I don't know.
