Would you consider water an object for example? It's a syrup so it's more liquid than other thing, I think. And besides, it's stored inside an object, a bottle normally.

Sorry if it isn't a word that common to American English, the odd thing is that I always have the American English dictionary on, on my browser and it didn't "complain" about the word. But what would you call it there? And I think it isn't a dessert for itself, it's a sweetener like honey or something, I don't use it that much but my mother sometimes does.
Maybe as I'm not a native English speaker sometimes I can do a mix of American English and British English, so, sorry
